A Brief Sketch

I keep getting these brief thoughts for what I want to look at doing next. Maybe none of these ideas are good, but it's where they lead me that's more important.

Beginnings

I started my adventure into my MFA experience last Thursday and have such a good feeling about where this is going to take me. This is exactly what my art needed. I think in many ways I was concerned that I'd be too young or inexperienced to fully engage in the program, but instead I find myself thriving. I am very inspired to take my work in a new, fresh direction. Several ideas are brewing. We'll see which ones come to fruition in the end, or even survive the week. Being immersed in this constant artistic dialogue is an amazing experience. There is a cultivation of passion and creativity that fills the air that would otherwise be stagnant with heat (this is not a metaphor-today was an uncomfortably warm temperature.). I supposed this intensity is necessary to propel us through the following 24 weeks where we will once again work in the solitude of our studios. This is a journey I am ready to take.
